20th July 2024: Paper publication in Optics Express Journal.

We congratulate Ms. Pratyasha Priyadarshini and the co-authors (Dr. Arnab Goswami, Mr. Ashitosh Velamuri and Prof. Bijoy Krishna Das) on the publication of the paper, titled "Distributed Bragg Reflector Based ASE Noise Removal Pump Wavelength Filters for Futuristic Chip-Scale Quantum Photonic Circuits" in Optics Express.
For the full-scale integration of an integrated quantum photonic processor, it is essential to remove the broadband noise originating from amplified spontaneous emission within the chip. The major challenge lies in designing an ultrabroad passband filter with a high out-of-band rejection ratio. To address this challenge, the team developed a novel design for a compact tunable distributed Bragg reflector-based cavity.
This device, with a length as short as ~35 µm, exhibits a rejection band as wide as ~60 nm with an extinction ratio of ~40 dB relative to the resonant wavelength peak at λr ~1550 nm. The noise associated with an amplified pump wavelength (λp ~1550 nm) is suppressed down to the detector noise floor.

19th June 2024: Poster Presentation at the ECIO 2024 in Aachen, Germany.

Congratulations to Mr. Arnab Goswami for poster presentation of the paper 'Silicon Photonic Wafer-Scale Yield of Single Mode Resonator with Broadband DBR Mirrors' at the European Conference on Integrated Optics (ECIO) 2024 in Aachen, Germany.
Bragg grating-based devices have wide-ranging applications in filtering, switching, modulation, sensing, and more. While e-beam-based fabrication is reliable for creating Bragg gratings, the absence of Bragg devices in the device library of commercial silicon photonics (using Deep UV) PDK has hindered large-scale adoption.
In a successful collaborative effort between SilTerra Malaysia Sdn. Bhd. and Silicon Photonics CoE-CPPICS IIT Madras, we have made significant strides in integrating distributed Bragg grating-based broadband devices into the PDK of a commercial silicon photonics foundry like Silterra.
We extend our gratitude to all the co-authors, Pratyasha Priyadarshini, Gan Yih Loong, Chew Yan Ng, Prof. Deleep Nair, Prof. Anjan Chakravorty, and Prof. Bijoy Krishna Das who made this possible.
